KATE ALBRECHT - LOS ANGELES, CA
I don't know about you, but I've been stalking Kate Albrecht and her jewelry collection for a while now (not to mention her spunky DIY videos). It was great to hang out with her, drink sangria and laugh the entire time - we also finally got down to business and talked about the pieces in her closet too.
Kate has a lot going on - she designs her Mr. Kate jewelry line and creates original content for her blog and DIY videos. She‘s also an amazing interior designer which has led her to end up on the show ‘Home Made Simple' on the OWN Network. She does this all while looking super fabulous, of course.
If you've seen Kate's videos on her site, the first thing you've probably noticed is her fun and outgoing energy. Talking with her in person, you really get the sense of how creative, passionate and talented she is. The fact that she has her hands in so many facets of the creative world is cool, but it's how she ties them all together that is super inspiring - it's really well done and cohesive. She has truly created a unique lifestyle brand under the Mr. Kate umbrella.
Kate's latest jewelry collection, the Days of Ore, is focused on various mysterious ancient times. Using metals from the earth, she designs rings, bracelets and necklaces but also uncommon accessories like ear cuffs and claw rings - which are placed at the finger tips, in case you were wondering. Anyway, it's all so well thought out - I love the inspired dew drop texture that is used throughout the collection.
"My style is definitely eclectic - I really like to work with juxtapositions. Kind of like a rocker vibe but a total girly vibe too."
"I get my inspiration from a lot of different places. I pride myself on not really looking at other jewelry designers because I don't want to be influenced by other people. I think it's so important to be unique."
